News:New Product: Yamamoto Corporation’s “Takoyaki Rubber” Finally Back!; Entering Competitive Swimwear Market on a Full-Scale
October 26, 2015
On October 26, 2015, Yamamoto Corporation held a press conference at Osaka Sangyo Sozokan (Osaka City) to announce the following:
Yamamoto Corporation, recognized for composite special rubber materials and medical equipment, acquired domestic competitive swimwear brand, MERLIN, on October 1. As a result, we will enter the competitive swimwear market from November 1 as Yamamoto Corporation on a full-scale.
It will be the birth of a competitive swimwear manufacturer that will conduct integrated operations from material development to swimwear manufacturing and sales. Advance reservations for “Mach,” the latest 2016 swimwear model of the MERLIN brand certified by FINA, can be made from November 1.
As for the sales network, we will recruit dealers in the future, but the Osaka store of Takashimaya Co, Ltd. (Takashimaya Osaka Store) will start selling the products from November 5 before the recruitment. We will accept fittings and advance reservations at our company space at “Best Buy Osaka!” which will be held at the event hall on the 7th floor.
In addition, as a launch commemoration event, we will conduct talk shows on Sunday, November 8, which have been constructed to be enjoyable on the “secret story of the latest swimwear taking the challenge to be the world’s fastest” from 1 pm and “the key to rejuvenate ten years younger” from 3 pm, both at the event hall on the 7th floor of Takashimaya. Please look forward to them.
The sales target for this fiscal year is 1,000 and we will make the sizes correspond to all 14 sizes from juniors to men and women. The 2016 model can be used in official competitions from January 1, 2016. It will be the fastest swimwear manufactured by our company.
Above is the “super high-performance swimwear material newly developed by thoroughly improving the high-speed swimwear material” that took the world by storm in 2008 and 2009.
The newly-developed competitive swimwear material is characterized as being “hydrophilic,” not the “water-repellent” like the competitive swimwear sold on shelves.
This is the swimwear that has had the largest improvement since 2008 and 2009.
We will change the past policy of selling only by material supply and will “make full-scale entry into product sales of competitive swimwear to support primary school students, junior high school students, high school students and university students to achieve their dreams to participate in the Tokyo Olympics” limited to within Japan.
We have set low prices, such as men’s swimwear at 18,000 yen (tax excluded), which would normally be sold at over 25,000 yen considering the costs.
We have also set low prices for women’s swimwear at 27,000 yen (tax excluded), which would normally be set at over 35,000 yen to enable more young athletes to use them.
